Unfortunatly most people believe that good dental care has no effect on their overall health.

For many physicians health starts at the throat. In medical school they are not taught

about the oral diseases and their complications. After 45 years in the dental profession only

in the last few years are our medical brethren finally recognizing that there is an

 interaction between oral health and total body health.

 Cardiologists, Endocrinologists, Surgeons, and other specialties have

begun to emphasize the need for good dental health.

Dental disease has a direct effect on the heart – getting your teeth fixed can become  life saving

for a heart patient or possibly help prevent a stoke.

Diabeties and dentistry also share an intimate conection.

Share with your dentist what your expectations are.

Ask specific questions that you want answered.

Make sure that you get enough information to make a decision.

Ask about the doctor’s experience with similar procedures and his results.

Tell your dentist if you are uncomfortable or need a brake.

Understand that your dentist is one of your  health partners.

Good oral health enhances your entire body health.

This is our 14th Annual Conference and looks like it will be our most successful yet.

A reminder to all members about the September meeeting and the

Annual Conference November the 5th at Embasy Suites 8:30 – 3:00. Speaker TBA

September meeting will be 6:30-9:00 at Winter Park Library – yes we are back there

for the time being.

This coming Tuesday July 20th at 9:00am Dr. Preble will be doing a complex sinus procedure

not only to augment the bone volume but to reconstruct a new portion of the floor of the sinus.

Patient is 34 male with no medical Hx, dental Hx. of a retained submerged and abscessed

deciduous right first molar and a nonrestorable adult first molar. There never was a second

bicuspid. It will take two separate surgeries to correct the defects and then place the implants.

All members are strongly encouraged to join the American Academy Of Implant Dentistry (AAID).

There is a discount with  the Study Group membership.

Also, if you are one of the Drs. that is placing and/or restoring dental implants you should keep

track of your cases and submit your application for Associate Fellow of the AAID.

These credentials can be used in marketing materials without any repercusions.
